Our Winter CSA

Potatoes-and-carrots.jpeg

A robust selection of locally-grown offerings to get you through the winter!

The winter share is about the size of our summer large veggie share, but pickups are every two weeks instead of every week. It’s not a set weight or volume per week because it varies over the course of the season (November 2024 to March 2025!) but each week is roughly 1 bushel in volume, 10-15 lbs, and about 6-10 items.

Winter 2024-25 CSA: $495

The winter share is made up mostly of winter roots like potatoes, beets, carrots, turnips, sweet potatoes, radishes, etc. as well as fresh greens (mostly spinach because it’s the most cold-hardy green, but sometimes salad mix, cabbage, kale, or other hardy leaves), winter squash, onions, garlic, dried herbs and chili peppers, and a “local treat” from time to time like hot sauce, mushrooms, or honey. We also have a good stash of jarred Stone Soup tomatoes from summer 2023

The share will vary over the course of the winter and is dependent on weather (for instance a warmer than usual winter will result in more spinach growing in our greenhouse, and a colder winter will mean less spinach), but here's a sample of one pickup:

  • 1 bunch of kale or 1 head cabbage

  • 1 lb. of spinach

  • 2 lbs. beets

  • 2 lbs. carrots

  • 3 lbs. potatoes or sweet potatoes

  • 3 heads garlic

  • 3 ears popcorn or 1 bag dried chilis

  • 1 "treat" (locally sourced jam, honey, mushrooms, hot sauce, kim chi, dry beans, etc)

Your carrots and spinach are out of this world!

This is my first time trying a farmshare and I’m so glad I did. It has been fun to experiment with new recipes and try produce that isn’t in our usual rotation. Would highly recommend the winter share!
